Michel Disco has served as a Director on the Christina Kent Board since 2010 and is a member of the Fund Development Committee.
Michel has been a Pharmacist for 40 years and has been teaching for 10 years. She is Assistant Dean for External Programs, UNM College of Pharmacy. She earned her BS Pharmacy in 1973 and her MBA in 1983.
After growing up in Socorro, New Mexico, Michel attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She has spent most of her career in Albuquerque with the exception of a 5 year stint in Alaska during the late 1970’s
Michel is a member of Soroptimist International of Albuquerque (SIABQ), a service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls locally and internationally. She also volunteers at health fairs, immunizations clinics, and other forums for health care.
“Through SIABQ, I learned about Christina Kent Early Childhood Center and decided that this is a great place to support. I have worked with students at the College of Pharmacy also to participate in the mobile food bank, painting days, and other activities, as well as fund-raising,” Michel says.
Michel’s personal goal for this, her second term on the Christina Kent Board, is to help keep CKECC fiscally sound – and a great place for children to grow and learn.
Michel is married to Gary Disco. They have one married daughter, and one grandson.
